CHI
Centers' Transportation Services provide curb-to-curb service
for the majority of the program participants of the Adult Programs,
and the Supported Employment Department. A fleet of 60 vehicles
offers adaptive transportation services. Transportation is also
offered to individuals who participate in recreation, social, and
other community activities. Transportation services provided to
CHI Centers program participants in Howard County is subcontracted.
These services include:
- 334 (60 who use wheelchairs) individuals receive curb-to-curb
service directly from CHI Centers Transportation department.
- In addition to curb-to-curb transportation, the department provides
vehicles and staff for field trips, delivery of contract work,
and supported employment worksites.
- CHI Centers updates its fleet each year by replacing three to
five old vehicles with new vehicles.
The League of Volunteers for Exceptional People has been
generous in donating funds every year to assist with this
replacement program.
